Likely Monstera deliciosa · 87% match
Bacterial leaf spot
Moderate · keep an eye on it

The dark spots with yellow halos on several leaves point to a bacterial leaf-spot infection, usually triggered by water sitting on the foliage in humid, low-airflow conditions. It’s treatable if you act now and stop it spreading to healthy leaves.

Your care plan
1Isolate the plantMove it away from your other plants for now to stop the spread.
2Remove affected leavesSnip off badly spotted leaves with clean, sterilised scissors and bin them.
3Water at the soilKeep water off the leaves and improve airflow around the plant.
4Recheck in 7 daysScan again to confirm new growth is coming in clean.
Looks healthy!
Healthy · no issues found

Folia Intelligence didn’t spot any signs of disease, pests, or stress. Keep up your current care and check back if anything changes.

Guide
Getting started
On the Plants tab, tap the + button. Give it a name and add any details you like, such as the species, where it lives, how often it needs water, its light and pot size, and a photo. Then tap Save and it joins your collection.
While adding a plant, snap or upload a photo and Folia suggests the most likely species. Pick the closest match and the name fills in for you. It’s handy when you’re not sure what you’ve got.
Yes. On the Assistant tab, tap the scan icon at the top to take or choose a photo. Folia identifies the plant and shows its common and scientific name, a short description, where it’s native to, and its light, water, care level and pet safety at a glance. From there you can add it to your collection, with the photo and details carried over, or ask the assistant about it.
Yes, you sign in with Google or Apple. That keeps your plants, photos, reminders, and assistant history synced and backed up, so nothing is lost if you switch devices.
Your plants
Open a plant and use the edit button at the top, or tap the three dots on its card for quick actions including delete. Deleting a plant also removes its photos, reminders, and history. You can also ask the assistant to remove plants for you, even several at once, and it shows a review sheet to confirm first.
Tap the heart on a plant’s card or its profile. Favourites pin to the top of the Plants tab automatically (under the Recently added sort).
Yes. Use the search box to find a plant by name, and the sort control to order your list. For example, you can sort by name, by most recent, or by which plants need water soonest.
Open a plant’s profile to add photos to its gallery. Tap one to view it full-screen, swipe between shots, and delete any you no longer want.
Open the Timeline link in a plant’s Photos section. You get a before-and-after slider from its first photo to its latest, you can pick any two photos to compare, or play the gallery as a short timelapse.
A spot for plants you’d love but don’t own yet. When you identify a plant, tap “Save to wishlist” and it waits in the Wishlist segment of the Plants tab with its care needs. Brought one home? Tap “I got it” and it becomes a real plant in your collection.
Yes. The Cuttings segment on the Plants tab follows each cutting through its stages. Tap a stage on its timeline and Folia stamps the date. Once it’s rooted and settled, graduate it into a full plant.
It measures how bright a spot is on the Low / Medium / Bright scale, using your phone’s built-in light sensor where there is one, or the camera as a fallback. Open it from the sun icon at the top of the Assistant tab, or tap “Measure the light” when setting a plant’s light. There it also tells you how well the spot suits that plant.
Care & reminders
Each plant has a watering interval you set when adding or editing it. When a watering falls due it shows up in your Care tab. Logging a watering resets the countdown for that plant.
Yes. On a plant’s profile, add a reminder, choose its type, and set how often it repeats. It then appears in your Care tab whenever it’s due.
It gathers everything due today across your plants, both waterings and other reminders, in one place. The week strip and calendar let you look back and plan ahead.
Tap the check on a task to log it; it moves to "Done today". Ticked one by mistake? An Undo button appears right after, which reverses it completely.
Day streak counts consecutive days you’ve logged care, "Done this week" totals this week’s completed tasks, and "Plants cared for" is the size of your collection.
Folia keeps your existing cycle: it recalculates the next due date from the last one plus your new interval, instead of resetting it to tomorrow. You can also pick a specific date yourself.
Set your away dates in Settings and reminder notifications pause while you’re gone. When you’re back, Folia shows a catch-up of everything that came due so you can work through it calmly.
Yes. Plant sitter in Settings creates a share code for your helper. They tap “Watering for a friend? Enter a code” on the sign-in screen, see only the plants you chose, and can mark them watered. Nothing else about your garden can be changed.
AI & the assistant
Ask anything about your plants, like watering, light, pests, propagation, or troubleshooting. With Assistant context turned on, it can use a plant’s details and history to give more tailored advice. It can also make changes for you when you ask, such as logging care, setting a watering schedule, adding a reminder, or saving a detail.
Yes. Ask it to add plants, for example "add 10 cactus", and it proposes a list with recommended care, where you can rename or adjust each one before confirming. Ask it to remove plants, for example "delete all my test plants", and it shows a review sheet with thumbnails so you can deselect any you want to keep. Nothing is added or removed until you confirm. It can also change a detail across many plants at once, like "set all my succulents to water every 14 days" or "move all my balcony plants indoors", and shows them for review first. You can add up to 100 plants at once, and remove or bulk-change up to 200 at a time; if more match, confirm those first and ask again for the rest.
Use the "Talking about" selector at the top of the Assistant. Choose General for broad questions, or pick a specific plant to get advice tailored to it. The suggested questions change to match whatever you have selected.
Tap the clock icon at the top of the Assistant to browse previous conversations. Each chat is given a short title automatically based on what it is about, so it is easy to find again. The plus icon starts a fresh chat.
Identify suggests a plant’s species from a photo. Diagnose analyses a photo of a struggling plant for likely problems and care tips.
Think of it as a helpful guide rather than a guarantee. Clear, close up photos of the affected leaves in good light give the best results. If something looks serious or is spreading, it’s worth checking with a local nursery or plant expert.
It changes how the assistant replies, from Friendly to Concise, Detailed, or Expert, so you get as much or as little depth as you like.
The AI service sometimes gets very busy or reaches a daily limit. Wait a moment and try again. Your photo is kept, so you don’t have to retake it.
Plans & billing
The free plan includes up to 15 plants, 5 photos per plant, 5 AI scans a month (identification and diagnosis share this), and 5 assistant messages a day. Reminders, the care calendar, history, data export and themes are all unlimited. When you reach a limit you’ll be prompted to upgrade to Folia Plus.
Folia Plus removes the caps: unlimited plants and photos, unlimited AI scans (identification & diagnosis), and 100 assistant messages a day (up from 5). Upgrading also helps support Folia, any time from the Upgrade screen.
Settings & appearance
Go to Settings, then Appearance, and choose Light or Dark. The app refreshes for a moment to apply it everywhere, and your choice is remembered.
They let you choose which nudges you get. Watering reminders and other care reminders (feeding, repotting, re-checks) can each be switched on or off, and Reminder time sets when your daily reminder arrives.
When on, the assistant can use a plant’s species, notes, and care history to answer more specifically. Turn it off if you’d rather keep chats general.
Yes. Settings has a Units option that switches between Metric and Imperial, which also changes pot sizes and the assistant’s advice.
Your data & account
When you’re signed in, your collection, care notes, and assistant history sync to your account so they’re safe if you change devices. You can toggle Backup & sync in Settings.
Settings has an account-deletion option that removes your data from Folia. This is permanent and can’t be undone.
